ANA Goodrich, who started competing under Eventing Ireland rules slightly less than a year ago, recorded a double last Saturday when, for the second week running, the Turley and O’Connor families welcomed the Northern Region of Eventing Ireland to Tullymurry.

Goodrich faced four rivals in the EI100 (J) where, having lost her lead with a fence down show jumping, she ran out the winner on a total of 36.8 penalties with Carole Young’s traditionally-bred Lisnamuck What A Cracker (Cheeky Bobby Sparrow – Meancog, by Monashee Mountain). The Co Antrim rider had finished fourth of 12 in the EI90 here seven days earlier when making her first EI start on the 14-year-old gelding who was previously campaigned by Cassie Huddleston.

Goodrich just had to complete to win the EI100 (P) as she and her mother Gemma Esler’s 11-year-old Irish Sport Pony gelding Broadleas Chat, a grey son of Moores Clover, were the only starters.

Molly Goodwin recorded an all-the-way win in the four-runner EI110 (J) on her mother Aileen’s seven-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding Our Dream W. Her total of 48.1 on the bay included 10.8 cross-country time penalties.

Darcy Turley made it six wins from eight starts when completing on her dressage score (34.3) in the EI90 on her mother Sarah’s 19-year-old Llanveynoe Blaze of Glory gelding Budore Mystic Legend. The home-based combination were left in the lead in the four-runner class when the dressage winners on 32.3, Ella Rose Sands and Drumlane Dick, had a fence down show jumping and then picked up 4.8 cross-country time penalties.
