ISLA Coad and the six-year-old Paul Hughes-bred Lollypop PH have enjoyed a stellar run of form this season, and it continued when they claimed their fifth win in the Overlander EI110(J) at Lisgarvan. Dressage leaders Laragh Byrne and LA Saurian Cavalier retired cross-country, so when Coad and Lollypop PH added just a handful of time penalties to their first phase score to complete on 34.5, they finished well in advance of runners-up Alannah Bailey and Kilpatrick Sparkle (40.7).

After Matilda Ormonde and Rathlacken Vincent parted company on the cross-country course, Hannah Goold was left to an uncontested one-two in the Overlander EI110(P). She had already secured the win with Paddys Best, adding only a handful of cross-country time penalties to her dressage score of 36.6, before she left the start box with Atletico Madrid, who incurred 20 penalties in the latter part of the course to take second place.

Show jumping proved very influential in both the Overlander EI100(J) and the Kehoe Brothers Machinery EI100(P), with only two of the 12 starters posting clear rounds in the latter class.

Dressage lead

Tadgh O’Haire produced one of these with the Connemara Abbeyside Earl to take the win on 31, ahead of Lily Walsh and the Gustav Klimt-sired thoroughbred A Piece Of Art. This combination’s dressage lead was strong enough that the addition of eight faults in the show jumping phase put them on the same score as O’Haire, but they were faster and so further from the optimum time.

Lucy Hope Ryan and the Connemara Eitherard Lad were the only combination to keep a clean sheet in the jumping phases of the EI100(J) to finish second on 33.8, behind Ella Kidd and Coppenagh Otto. Recording their first win under Eventing Ireland rules, the combination added penalties for rolling a pole and finishing one second over the time allowed cross-country to complete on 30.4. Arabella Whelehan claimed third aboard the Irish Draught Gneeve Prince William on a total score of 34.5.

Lily Corrigan led from the front to claim the Coffee Express EI90(P) riding 101 Dalmatians. The combination finished just one second over the optimum time on the final phase to complete on 27.4, over four penalties ahead of Tristan Kelly and the Connemara Garvagh Moonlight Boy, who finished on their dressage score of 31.5.
