THORNTONS Recycling continue as sponsors of the small hunter section of the Gallagher Dublin Horse where the four and five-year-old class is due to commence before British judges Zara Owen and Patrick Lobb at 1.30pm next Wednesday in Ring 1.

Patrice Dorney, a joint-owner of last year’s P.J. Casey-ridden champion Kindred Spirit, has another four-year-old gelding for next week in the Portlaoise First Tuch bay PD Toytown.

Grace Maxwell Murphy has entered the Irish Draught gelding Gleann Rua Friend, a four-year-old Castlegar Coolough roan who, most recently, won a large, highly-competitive small hunter class at Tattersalls last weekend.

Three five-year-old mares of interest are Nicola Perrin’s Ballarin Beaufort (by Chelis HC Z), Mairead Ryan’s IJ Silhouette (by HHS Cornet) and Gerry Whyte’s Sleehaun Showtime, a home-bred daughter of Watervalley Cool Diamond.

Maxwell Murphy has her home-bred 2020 Moylough Legacy gelding Gleann Rua Legacy, a half-brother to the 2022 Dublin supreme champion, Gleann Rua da Vinci (by Camillo VDL), entered in the six-year-old and upwards class. Among their rivals will be Amy Watchorn and her eight-year-old Sligo Candy Boy gelding Highvew Tallorder, winners of the Amateur title at the recent Connolly’s Red Mills champion of champions finals in Barnadown.
