DAY one of the Premier Performance Dressage Ireland youth national championships at CoilÓg concluded with a presentation to the regional Under 25s and Trailblazers teams.
On a busy day for the rider, Maura Moore-McCune wasn’t competing just for herself but as a member of the winning Leinster Region Under 25s’ team which she did with two mounts, Crofs Clover and Blokland’s Hoeve’s Amor.
Also on the team were Ava Boyd who competed at Novice level with the Connemara gelding Ballinamoona Boy, a 19-year-old grey son of Earl Of Newbridge, and Darragh Whyte who, too, competed at Novice level with the Irish Sport Horse mare Miss Uptown Girl, a nine-year-old bay by OBOS Quality 004 out of a non-winning thoroughbred mare by Close Conflict.
The South Munster Region fielded two Trailblazers teams and claimed the honours through their Orange quartet of Amy Hearne on Brandon Zimbabwe (Junior), Clara Nyhan with Molly Dot Com (Under 12), Lilly McLoughlin riding Dinky Daisy (Mini) and Stephanie Fleming with Rockery Fizz (Mini).
