THE North Munster Region of Dressage Ireland staged seven dedicated Inter Regional Final qualifiers last Saturday at Garranemore Equestrian.

The Preliminary DI6 was judged by Marian Slattery (List 3A), who awarded her highest score of 69.42% to both Saibh Prenderville and Allison Geary. With the higher collective score, Prenderville claimed the honours on Sunny Girl, an 18-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare by Wings Of Justice.

Six combinations appeared before Marie Hennessy (List 2) in the Novice DI21, where the overall leaderboard was headed on 67.76 by Ana Hughes with her 17-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding E Warrantsson (Warrant - Maigrade, by Concorde).

There were five withdrawals from that qualifier, leaving six starters, and four from the Slattery-judged Elementary DI51, which still left a good-sized field of 10. Here, the highest score (72.04) was posted by Rosemary Gaffney riding her eight-year-old KWPN-registered mare Norabel (Just Whimphof - White Spot, by Don Schufro).

With two withdrawals, there were just two starters in the Medium qualifier, the DI65, where Sara Wood recorded the higher score (64.84) with her 10-year-old ISH gelding Avalon Next Generation (Glencarrig Joe - The Aughrim Girl, by Huntingfield Rebel).

Initiating a cross-level double, Tracy Murphy partnered her 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding Kennedy (Future - Wianannie, by Olivi) to win the three-runner Advanced Medium qualifier on 66.76, while Bernadette Newham recorded the first leg of her Advanced double when awarded the top score of 66.14 in the qualifying DI100 class with the 12-year-old Lusitano gelding Jejum AR (Jacare II - Ruela, by Estoiro).

Donie McNamara (List 1) judged one combination in one qualifier, the Inter II, and that was Sue Smallman with her 15-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding Gloriant H (Uphill - Adilia H, by Rousseau), who scored 63.68.
