TWO combinations, whose names more usually appear in riding club reports in these pages, won their working hunter classes at last week’s Balmoral Show.

Headfort secretary Lynsey Rogers topped the line-up in the Event Technical Services cobs’ section on her home-bred Irish Sport Horse gelding Oreo Lad, a 17-year-old piebald by Castleforbes Noe out of the Nearly A Nose mare Nearly A Princess.

Ashbrook member Shauna Kidd was presented with the George Boyd trophy following her win in the Lowry and Boyd families’ small horse division on the ISH gelding Good News Scotty, a 16-year-old grey by Last News on whom she shares the ride with her mother Jayne.

Entries have been made for both horses at the upcoming Association of Irish Riding Clubs’ Festival (June 7th and 8th) in Mullingar where The Irish Field is once again sponsoring the dressage programme.
