BERNIE Roche and her team hosted a TRI Equestrian Interschools show at Hollypark Stables in Co Limerick last Sunday. It was well attended by a number of schools local to the area. St Mary’s New Ross was one of a number of schools that travelled to attend and this was well worthwhile when the school gained 10 points in the TRI Equestrian open team league when winning that competition. The team was Conello Curraghmore and Katie Costello, Milchem Havana and Eva Kent, Queenie Cornet and Mia Kent and Ahabrock Storm ridden by Aoife Cummins.
The TRI open individual class was claimed by Mia O’Donnell on Kinlough Lady for St Declan’s Kilmacthomas, ahead of Kaytlin O’Connor Kelly on Fort Arthur Duchess for Salesian College Pallaskenry and Emma English riding Misty Moon from St John the Baptist School. The minor placings went to Caoimhe Gammell, Victoria Keane and Grace O’Rourke.
The final open class was the TRI Equestrian premier 110 qualifier. Victory went to Sophie O’Donnell riding Cool Jack for Hazelwood College. Mia O’Donnell from St Declan’s on Kinlough Lady claimed one of the runner-up slots, as did Emma Hannon with Gra Mo Chroí from St John the Baptist. Also featuring in the line-up were Kaytlin O’Connor Kelly and Leah Young.
