ON Sunday, July 13th, the 106th running of Dungarvan Show took place in Ballygagin where it was a memorable day for Rosemary and Claire Connors. Rosemary won the Liberty Blue Overall Champion with Woody Wiggle, a smashing four-year-old Small Hunter making his debut in the show ring. The Reserve was Camilla O Halloran’s Dash Bouncer.

Rosemary went on to win the side saddle riding Kieran O’Gorman’s Munther’s King. Meanwhile, sister Claire completed a hat-trick of wins in the Treo Eile Open Riding Class riding Creggs Cross.

Kate Devine’s Savannah Herself won the Robin Hunt Bronze for the Champion Working Hunter.

In the young horse rings, Dermot Barlow’s unnamed three-year-old Pointliste gelding won the Young Horse title while Richard Drohan’s mare Golden Moments took the Champion Broodmare award. Izzy O’Donnell won the Champion Pony while the inaugural running of the Champion Native Breeds was won by Sean Looney riding Ahalative Goldsmith.

Richard Hourigan had a good day in the show jumping arena as he won the Connolly Red Mills/Phelans Hardware/Munster Grand Prix on Killaloan Cobra Carel.
