THE 2026 NAPS/Circulo National Amateur League came to an exciting conclusion at Cavan Equestrian on Saturday, September 19th, bringing a busy season of amateur show jumping to a close.

Running from April to September, this year’s league featured more than 30 legs at venues nationwide, making it accessible to amateur riders across the country. With so many opportunities to compete and collect points throughout the season, riders could take part in the league locally and further afield, with many legs incorporated into regional amateur leagues.

The penultimate leg of the league presented riders with both a challenge and an opportunity in the form of a derby class at the National Amateur and Sports Member Championships in Mullingar. With double points on offer, riders were presented with the valuable opportunity to either advance or strengthen their positions in the league heading into the final leg: the much-loved and highly competitive Amateur Derby at the Cavan September Amateur show.

When the curtain finally fell on yet another exciting derby in Cavan, Stephanie Forde and Merlins Vixen topped the league with a commanding 66 points. Circulo’s own Amanda-Jayne Comyn and Eirian Gatsby finished second on 47 points, while Shauna Wilson and Omard Hannah took third place on 30 points.

Each of the top 10 combinations received vouchers for O’Brien’s Saddlery - a fitting reward for their success and consistency throughout a six-month campaign for league points.

Congratulations to all of the riders who competed in the NAPS/Circulo League throughout the season, and particularly to the 2026 league winner, Stephanie Forde.
