THE third leg of the AIRC South East Dressage Series saw riders dancing down the centre line at Barnadown, kindly hosted by Carne Riding Club, under the watchful eye of judge Sarah Jane Doyle.
First into the arena was the RCP1 class, where the standard was set high from the outset. Taking first place was Jacqueline Kellett Bevan with Macroney Sue (Barrow Valley). Claire Sheehan and Gortnalee Bonnie (Ballycanew) secured second place, while John O’Dwyer riding My Oscar Wild (Thomastown and District) finished third.
In the RCP1 Open class, Jacqueline Kellett Bevan and Macroney Sue (Barrow Valley) once again claimed the top spot. Andrea Finnegan and Marley (Coole Lane) followed closely in second, with Ruth Dalton and Galtee Classic Croía (Coole Lane) taking third place.
Next down the centre line was the RCP2 class, where Isobelle Gould and Foxy Furisto (Barrow Valley) took first place. Sandra Dalton and Strattonstown Banjo (Horetown) finished second, while Roisin Sutton and Broomhill Bailey (Carne) secured another yellow rosette on the day.
The RCP2 Open class saw Isobelle Gould and Foxy Furisto (Barrow Valley) secure another win, with Sandra Dalton and Strattonstown Banjo (Horetown) again taking second. Third place went to Elsie Kearney and Tully Finn Star (Tinahely).
Winning form
In the RCP3 class, Harry Doran riding Jackson (Barrow Valley) took first place. Valerie Crean and Kildoon Trix (Barrow Valley) finished second, while Ciara O’Neill and Harry (Coole Lane) claimed third.
Harry Doran and Jackson (Barrow Valley) continued their winning form in the RCP3 Open class, taking first place once again. Faith Jackson and Kilquinn Pride (Tinahely) secured second place, with Valerie Crean and Kildoon Trix (Barrow Valley) finishing third.
The Young Horse class saw Ciara Kinsella from Carne take first and second with Dancer and Doug respectively. Andrea Cooper and Diamond Pondi Girl (Russellstown) finished third.
In the RC Novice class, Caoilfhionn Stoiri and Kildromin Mustaf (Barrow Valley) took first place. Second place went to Andrea Finnegan with Matilda’s Melody (Coole Lane). Third place was awarded to Joan Sinnott and Newtown Wilson (Ballycanew).
