CORK-based German native Stephanie Cunningham and her five-year-old mare Ballymacadam Bfm Lily scored 75.58% to win The Irish Field Young Horse class for Lismore Riding Club.
“I came to Ireland 30 years ago and, before that, I mainly competed in the sport of vaulting in Germany,” said Stephanie.
“I broke this mare myself. I never had a horse so easy to train in dressage, she is so laid back. The dressage training opportunities provided by South Munster Region of Dressage Ireland are a great asset.
“I’m fortunate to have trained with Vitaliy Halstyan and Josephine Delahoyde and many thanks to both of them for their help in securing this win today.”
The Irish Field Prix Caprilli RC N class winner Mary Hogan from Slieve Bloom Riding Club commented: “I’m delighted to secure a first win at the Festival with my 10-year-old mare Roben Ruby.
“The input of my trainer Tony Ennis was instrumental in our success and I really like the Prix Caprilli competition format.”
