AS Euro 2016 fever takes over the nation, soccer lovers will no doubt be glued to their television screens to see Ireland’s outcome.

For Ger O’Brien of Raheen-Na-Gun, he has a very special connection to the championship as his son Keith, who is a musician in the band Seo Linn, has been selected to write and perform the official Republic of Ireland Euro 2016 song, The Irish Roar.

The song, which debuted on the The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show three weeks ahead of the championship, has proved to be a sensational hit at home and in France.

The catchy song, looks back at the Irish team over the past 26 years and pays tribute to one of Ireland’s best-loved sports anchors, Bill O’Herlihy, who died last year. The band will be performing The Irish Roar over the course of the Euros and have already played at the Irish Embassy in Paris to welcome the cyclists on the Mustard Seed Ireland Challenge into Paris.
