Having lost their dear friend and club member Jane Keating to ovarian cancer in October 2011, Cheval Riding Club continues to fund-raise for SOCK (Supporting Ovarian Cancer Knowledge), the charity Jane founded in 2010.

On Sunday week, August 3rd, the fifth SOCK team show jumping challenge takes place at the club’s Jordanstown grounds in North Co Dublin.

Open to all, teams consist of four riders of whom at least one must jump at 90cms or 1m.

The Odd Socks are going for their fourth win in a row and, so seriously is this challenge being taken, that Laura Carrick is flying back from Manila to captain the team. There will be a leading rider prize, which will be judged by Aileen Bradish, and Ironia Photography will be judging and sponsoring the most creatively dressed team prize.

To-date, Cheval has raised in excess of €10,000 for SOCK and all proceeds from the show’s cake sale, barbecue, dog show, face painting and monster raffle will be going towards the fundraiser as everything, including the burgers, has been very kindly donated.
