ONE person putting the end of lockdown to good use is Fiona Furey whose charity virtual sponsored ride takes place today (Saturday, November 28th) between 2pm to 4pm, so don’t forget to get involved online.

“I decided to make some use of this lockdown by raising some much-needed funds for charity,’’ said Fiona. The idea is that everyone will ride at the same time and monies raised will go to support four chosen charities that have suffered during the pandemic.

“Ride for as long as you want during the two hours. Hack, do flat work in your arena whatever you choose, obviously staying within the government Covid guidelines, and post photos on Facebook after,” said Furey who pointed out that there is no insurance to cover in place as everyone is riding in their own home or yard.

Whatever money is raised will be divided equally between the four charities of My Lovely Horse Rescue, The Lucy Irvine Foundation, The Samitarians and Breast Cancer Ireland.

Everyone who enters will be sent a commemorative rosette, designed, made and kindly sponsored by Centrepiece Rosettes.

Entry is €16 with €1 going towards posting the rosettes.
