PONY show jumper Tabitha Kyle had a show to remember at Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham.

Not only did she land her very first HOYS win, she also made history when becoming the first person to win both the 128cm and 138cm championship in the same year.

While Kyle does ride under the British flag, the 12-year-old has strong Irish ties as her father is of course Irish eventing Olympian Mark Kyle, and her grandmother, Gillian Kyle, is chairperson of Dressage Ireland.

Her victory in the 138cm championship came aboard the eight-year-old bay gelding Playboy Van De Zoetewei, having earlier landed the 128cm class with the nine-year-old grey mare, Coreys Princess.

Tabitha has become a seasoned pro at dealing with media interviews and pressure at the big shows, with fans even stopping her to ask for selfies.

“I’ve learnt a lot about myself, I don’t get pressured or nervous anymore at these big shows which really helps to stay calm,” she said.
