Series of online auctions launched
THE brainchild of Maria Costello, Equine Auctions Ireland has been set up as an online auction platform in a bid to keep equine trade moving.
In total, three sales have been announced over the coming months. The first auction will be for Connemara ponies and will be held over June 6th-7th, followed by the amateur leisure auction (Horses/Ponies/Cobs) over July 18th-19th and then in August, there will be an auction of three to four-year-old horses.
“Due to current restrictions, photographs and videos will be uploaded by vendors themselves but by August, we hope to have presentation days in centres around the country where we will be able to provide that service on site,” said Maria.
Bidding
Commencing with Connemara ponies, entries will be open between May 25th and 31st and details can be uploaded online. This will include two videos, five photographs, copy of breeding and passport details and most importantly, a veterinary certificate that will be valid on the date of auction. If X-rays are available, they can also be attached.
“All of the animals will then go live on the site for seven days and online bidding will commence on June 6th. All further details, including terms and conditions, can be found on our website www.eai.auction,” added Maria (please see advert on page 51).
