SADDLE up for the Louth Hunt’s upcoming Autumn Hunter Trials which willl be hosted at Tattersalls Farm next Sunday, October 14th.

Eugene O’Neill has built a new course on the south side of the Co Meath venue that is over terrific ground and features some fine fences and banks that will be of interest to both open and novice competitors.

In a breakaway from the usual format, there will also be a pre-novice course and every level of ability of horse and rider is catered for at this year’s Hunter Trials.

Tattersalls has hosted the Louth Hunter Trials for the past 20 years and while St Patrick’s Day is a firm fixture on many people’s calendar, Sunday week (October 14th) will be widely welcomed due to the amount of fixtures hit by the bad weather this past spring.

The day starts at 10am with the open singles then the pairs, followed by novice and pre-novice.

Chairman of the Louth Hunt, Stephen Gunne, said they are hoping for a good turnout and the inclusion of the pre-novice should prove a great help to those getting horses going at this time of year.

In other Louth Hunt news, they are also hosting a Fun Run at the beautiful Lough Fea Estate outside Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, (Sunday, October 7th), starting at 1pm. All enquiries to 086 8576203.
