Mayhem at Kedrah: Eventing venue Kedrah Castle in Co Tipperary is to welcome cross-country runners of a different variety next Saturday, September 20th when it hosts Mayhem 2014. Two-legged athletes will tackle the Kedrah course as part of the 5K/10K Challenge Run, with plenty of muck and fun promised for all.

Coolbawn success: The third annual Coolbawn Charity Gymkhana in Rathnure, Co Wexford last weekend raised €2,500 for Wexford Hospice, to add to the €7,000 the show has already generated for the charity in previous years. Well done to all involved.

Dressage loss: The only thing detracting from the positive atmosphere at last weekend’s Dressage Ireland National Championships was the fact that the long-standing secretary of Dressage Ireland Gerd Liekens-Schurmans and her husband Wouter will no longer be seen on the Irish circuit as they are moving to Spain.

Familiar faces as both judges and organisers, the couple have given many years of service to the sport in Ireland and will be missed by all.
