New hunting book

CONGRATULATIONS to Noel Mullins ahead of the launch next Wednesday of his latest book, The Irish Hunter.

Noel, a long-standing hunting correspondent with this newspaper and author of many hunting books, will be launching his new book in The Headfort Arms Hotel, Kells, Co Meath, with Gavin Duffy performing the official honours. Watch out for the upcoming review of The Irish Hunter in these pages.

Alex Ott fun ride

TOMORROW (Sunday) a fun ride will be held in aid of injured Cork horseman Alexander Ott and it’s hoped that as many people as possible will support this worthy event. The ride leaves at 12 noon from The Bridge Bar, Ballyhea, off the main Charleville-Buttervant Road. There’s plenty of options jumping and non-jumping to suit all levels. As this is a fundraiser, horses are €50 and ponies are €30 with a €10 discount for every additional pony from the same family.

Auction catalogue

THE auction catalogue for the many items up for bidding as part of the Tipperary Foxhounds Christmas Party can be accessed from next Wednesday. You can place a bid prior to the actual action night which is on next Saturday, by emailing tipperaryfoxhounds@gmail.com.

The cheese and wine Christmas party night is set for November 28th in The Horse and Jockey Hotel, near Thurles, Co Tipperary at 7.30pm.
