THE East Antrim Branch of The Pony Club held its annual ball and awards night last Saturday at Corrs Corner where among those presented with their prizes by East Antrim Master Robert McKnight was a delighted and surprised Holly Ross.

The nine-year-old, whose parents Kevin and Anna were busy buying yearlings and foals this week at Tattersalls National Hunt Sale, was the recipient of the Virginia Metcalfe Cup for the best East Antrim Branch member in the hunting field.

Among previous winners of this award were the pack’s present huntsman Robbie Hodge, senior whip James Jenkins, junior whip Benjamin Gilmore and two of the Crawford brothers, Ross and Ben.

James and the two Crawfords all evented internationally for Ireland before moving into racing.

We look forward to receiving other photographs and reports of balls, dances and end-of-year meetings from Pony Club branches around the country.
