THERE was a large eventing presence at the wedding in Co Louth on Saturday of Orlagh Kelly and Colin Halliday.

Family friend and Connemara breeder Fr Christy McCormack travelled over from Ballinasloe to conduct the marriage ceremony in St Brigid’s Church, Kilcurry. Orlagh’s bridesmaids were her sisters, Sheena Halpin and Aoife Ward, while Colin’s best man and groomsman were, respectively, James McRedmond and Mark Ellwood.

The reception was held in the Four Seasons Hotel, Carlingford and the official photographer made great use of the marine background for some wonderful shots of the pair and the wedding party which included Colin’s niece Ella Ross (flower girl) and Orlagh’s nephew Conor Ward (pageboy).

Hopefully all the guests from the eventing world took time out to speak to Colin and Orlagh’s parents, Jackie and Patricia Halliday and Enda and Mary Kelly, as you won’t come across them at any equestrian activities, their sports of choice being motocross racing and football.

The newlyweds flew out to Puerto Rico on Tuesday for their honeymoon.
