MAYO show jumper Eric Glynn is the latest in his show jumping family to land an overseas job.

The nephew of show jumping riders Cameron and Carl Hanley from Claremorris, Glynn has joined his first cousin Cormac Hanley by working in America after taking a job with Andrew Welles LLC.

Although Eric (28) has been in Florida for the entire winter WEF circuit, he was this week confirmed as a full-time trainer with the stable.

He moved to Florida last December, before returning home briefly to get married to Roisin Dolan just after Christmas.

“I am really looking forward to the future with the team at Andrew Welles LLC. Andrew and Alex are so motivated, there is an exciting group of horses in the stable horses, we have great young horses, and the clients all have new horses that they are starting to really click with,” Eric said.

“It’s going to be a very exciting year ahead.”

Eric had much success in and out of the show ring while based at Ger O’Neill’s Castlefield Sport Horses in Co Kilkenny prior to moving to America. He remembers training Jason Foley to win the gold medal at the European Junior Championships last year as one of the highlights.
