GET out the horse-sized Christmas jumpers!

The Irish Horse Welfare Trust (IHWT) has once again teamed up with Gain Equine Nutrition to help horses in need this Christmas.

The IHWT cares for around 60 horses and ponies at its dedicated centre in Woodenbridge, Co Wicklow. Established in 1999 to help the plight of horses in Ireland they are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of abused and neglected horses and ponies.

Gain Equine Nutrition is the official feed partner to the IHWT and is committed to supporting the charity in their fantastic efforts to rescue and rehabilitate neglected horses and ponies.

Gain Equine Nutrition will launch their ‘#DonateAChristmasDinner’ campaign across their social media channels on Monday, December 3rd.

All you need to do is upload a picture of your horse dressed up for the festive season onto Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and tag Gain Equine Nutrition. For every entry, they will donate a Christmas Dinner to the IHWT. The campaign will run from December 3rd to 21st so there is plenty of time to get into the festive spirit. This is a very worthy campaign to help horses in need this Christmas and every ‘like’ counts!

The work of the IHWT also includes promoting ex-racehorses for equestrianism; as well as promoting equine welfare awareness and running educational programmes. One of the most recent and biggest successes has been the Dunsink Horse Project in Dublin. It was developed and managed by IHWT, Fingal County Council and in conjunction with the local community.
