THE Eventing Ireland (Northern Region) fundraising committee, RejuvenEIGHT, got its action plan underway last Sunday with a car boot sale at Loughanmore, by kind permission of the Dennison family.

The fundraising is towards constructing new permanent feature fences at Tyrella, as well as building new portable fences which can be used at all regional events. The committee, headed by Vina Buller and comprising Maureen Brown, Debbie Byrne and Lawrence Patterson, pulled out all the stops in the planning and preparation of this pre-Christmas shopping opportunity.

In addition to the stall holders, there were several catering stations. Neville ‘McDonald’ Brown, in his traditional shorts, was in charge of the BBQ where he served up lots of goodies including amazing burgers which were kindly provided by Carlisles Fresh Foods, Ballynahinch. Maureen Brown and her team had been busy baking all kinds of buns, tray bakes and mince pies which were available to purchase from a stand manned by Mandy Blakely. Two of the young pony eventers, Tori Jewiss and Aimee Roscoe, prepared a crepe stall with all their takings going into the fund. There were great prizes on offer in a raffle.

Watch out for further fundraising efforts over the coming months.
