Can you help equine charities with rehoming?

MENTIONED in these pages last Saturday, the Co Antrim charity Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary recently took charge of two mares sent up north by Cobh Rescue Horses. Karina and Xena will shortly move on for MINT training with Jenna Hume, after which they will be rehomed.

The Co Cork group may have said goodbye to two of their charges but they have been inundated by horses and ponies in recent weeks and still have 46 animals at their base, most in need of veterinary and farriery treatment.

In common with Crosskennan, Cobh Rescue Horses keep their supporters well informed through social media as they seek funds to maintain their essential work.

Both charities are always looking for new homes for their charges and those who have kindly taken some on should check out the schedule for the virtual Cork Summer Show (June 20th and 21st) as it features two dedicated in-hand classes for rescued horses and ponies, 133ms and under and over 133cms. Full details can be found on the show’s website but take note that entries close at 10.30am sharp on Monday next, June 15th.
