A VERY enjoyable and educational day was enjoyed by all who attended the Galway Blazers’ open day and puppy show held at their Craughwell kennels last weekend.

Despite bad weather, droves of visitors came to see the hounds and meet old and new masters alike at the home of the famous pack.

On hand to greet the visitors were joint-masters Michael McDonagh, Liam Clancy, Ella Coffey, huntsman Anthony Costello, joint-master Tilman Anhold and whipper-in George Barrett.

Nicola Carthy’s side saddle demonstration drew a huge crowd and plenty of admiration as she jumped a gate during the exhibition, dressed in full immaculate habit.

Afterwards, lovely refreshments were served to conclude an informative day.
