‘I wandered lonely as a cloud,

That floats on high o’er vales and hills,

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake, beneath the trees,

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.’

The famous words of William Wordsworth’s lyric poem were triggered in the mind this week by the fantastic sight of a mass of beautiful daffodils in the capital. Wordsworth wrote the poem on April 15th 1802 when he and his sister Dorothy, came across a “long belt’’ of daffodils while out walking.

Pony Tales thought with so many cheerful daffodils in evidence, this was a good opportunity to remind people that donating online to the Irish Cancer Society’s Daffodil Day fundraiser could not be easier this year.

You can go online where a fast-track page has been set up (donate.cancer.ie) or if you would like to donate over the phone, you can simply call the Irish Cancer Society on CallSave 1850 60 60 60.
