FAITH and Peter Ponsonby hosted a great cross-country evening for the British Horse Society’s Fellows and Instructors Association at Ballylanigan Equestrian Education Centre, Mullinahone, Co Tipperary earlier this week.

William Micklem, FBHS, gave the 37 attendees a wonderful insight into cross-country riding which kept the audience enthralled, while cross-country designer Peter Ponsonby gave a demonstration on how different frangible devices work.

Watch out for an upcoming special series on cross-country safety in The Irish Field in the coming weeks.

The evening was organised by Faith Ponsonby and Jillie Rogers for the association, whose next outing will be to Punchestown Races.

It was a busy few weeks for the Ponsonbys, whose daughter Sarah and her partner Gavin Ryan opened their latest new venture, Miller’s Pharmacy, in Waterford city. The chemist, which is located opposite the Odeon Cinema in Poleberry, was officially opened by Cllr James Tobin, Mayor of the City and County of Waterford.
