Owned and bred by Wanda and her 80-year-old father Bill, the five-year-old liver chesnut mare is by the much-missed Irish Draught Crosstown Dancer out of the thoroughbred mare Fernisky Rose (by Denel).

At Dublin, she had earlier impressed the judges under Lesley Webb to win the lightweight class for four-year-old mares before going on to championship glory.

The Hillsborough family were good supporters of the late Crosstown Dancer, who is also the sire of Lord Of The Dance, who was four-year-old and middleweight champion for the McIlwaines at Dublin in 2001 and won his class there for the next three years.

He spent some time with Rosemary Morris in Britain, winning astride and side-saddle classes and qualifying for the Horse Of The Year Show. He is now retired and back with his breeders.
