AN exciting new chapter beckons for Jo Kimmons’ eye-catching cremello stallion Crown’s Ace Of Pearl.

Chinese Olympian Alex Hua Tian is campaigning the horse in Britain.

“It’s a real treat as an eventer, to have the ride on a unique and talented horse,’’ said Alex. The duo did their first event two weeks ago and enjoyed a double clear show jumping and cross-country in a BE 100 class at Eland Lodge.

“I have ridden a lot of stallions. And I can safely say that Ace has the best temperament for competition and management at home. I aim to have him competing at one-star by the end of this season and progressing up the levels in the coming seasons,” said Alex.

For the next month Ace is standing at Stallion AI undergoing quarentine so frozen semen can go to Australia, New Zealand, Europe and USA.

Jo bought the horse in Denmark as a yearling in 2007. His genetic colour code, CrCr AA, predicts the colour of his offspring.

He only produces palominos with chesnut mares and either palominos or buckskins with all other mares, except greys. His projeny are now emerging in all disciplines.

“Ace has the most fantastic temperament for a stallion. I believe it is because he has always lived in the middle of our busy yard in Wexford. Surrounded by numerous children, horses, dogs chickens and peacocks, he was treated like any other horse. He jumped up to 1.35m with Paddy O’Donnell,’’ added Jo.
