The Fermanagh Harriers branch hosted the event.

The weather was kind and it stayed dry all day for competitors travelling from all over the province as they battled it out on the games field for the honour of qualifying for the mounted games zones final in England.

Dougie Lynd supervised operations in his role as chief steward, whilst Graham Maybin commentated and oversaw arrangements on the field, supported by the members of the area mounted games committee. The tack and turnout competition was judged by Maureen Lynd and Liz Lowry.

The Prince Phillip Cup class was won by the Route Hunt Branch, and the team was awarded a beautiful new perpetual trophy, presented to them by the Maybins, marking their long association and support of Pony Club mounted games over the years.

The junior competition was also strongly contested, and the Mid-Antrim team was pipped to the post by the Iveagh B team who finished in the top spot. The Seskinore Assisted team was delighted to win their class, especially as it was the first time that the team had competed at that level.

The lead rein section was won by the Fermanagh team, which included three members who were competing in games for the first time.

Fermanagh Harriers district commissioner Frances Rolston Bruce thanked everyone who had helped to run the competition, including all the officials, parents and committee members. She also thanked CAFRE and Fermanagh District Council for their support, and sponsors Enviro Care NI, Brooke Veterinary Practice and photovisionphotography.com.
