A CORRECTLY fitting bit and bridle is very important for you and your pony so it’s important to know all the parts of the bridle. Study the picture here and make sure you know all the parts labelled.

You should clean your bridle, taking care to wash the bit free of any grass, scum or foam, after each use. Use clean water only for the bit.

The rest of your bridle should be kept soft and clean with a rub of saddle soap and some oil after each use. That way it will be easy to move up and down the holes if needed and remember to put all leathers back into their keepers.
