THE latest riders to qualify for the Pony Club combined training classes at next month’s Dublin Horse Show came out of Area 7 whose Festival qualifiers were also held over last weekend at Cavan Equestrian Centre.
Going forward to the open class is Jane McClean (below) who won the Open/SA qualifier, in which only three started, on Mosstown Calletto.
McClean, who used to represent the now defunct Oriel branch, is a member of Meath and keeps the eight-year-old Cascaletto St Ghyvan gelding with the Power family.
The combination have been competing in CNC1* classes since last year and finished ninth, on their dressage score, at Kilguilkey House last weekend.
Representing Area 7, and her branch Monaghan, in the intermediate section at the RDS will be Avril Mackeral riding Sheeba III.
They had to contend with 16 rivals on Saturday en route to bagging their ticket.
