THE Kildares’ Charlie O’Dwyer, son of jockey turned trainer Conor O’Dywer and his wife Audrey, is one of 10 lucky Irish Pony Club members who are into day two of the RACE jockeys skills training course in Kildare.

Sixteen riders from around the country applied for places on the course but, disappointingly for them, six failed to make the final 10 who were selected by a panel. No Branch has more than one member on the course.

In alphabetical order, the other nine IPC members attending the Racing Academy and Centre of Education are: Fiona Clarke (Tynagh), James Coffey (United), Alannah Cox (Leitrim), Alex Harvey (Ward Union), Robbie Jackson (Shillelagh), Jordan Kidd (Meath), Julie McDonald (Laois), Bernard Reidy Leahy (Scarteen) and Brandon Wilkie (East Donegal).
