FOLLOWING the resounding success of the Pegus Gala Weekend at Gransha Equestrian Centre in 2016, the Stuart family are delighted to announce that the event will run again this year on Saturday and Sunday, April 1st and 2nd.
The format has been changed from last year and show jumping and dressage will not be included as these dates clash with the Dressage Ireland Winter Finals and other important show jumping dates.
That does, however, give more scope for a bigger range of pony working hunter classes on Saturday, April 1st and horse working hunter classes on Sunday, April 2nd.
The ridden horse classes will take place on the Saturday and ridden pony classes on the Sunday. By scheduling this way there should be no clashing of classes and rushing from one arena to the other.
“We are delighted to have Pegus Horse Feeds in association with Thompsons Animal Feeds as our chief sponsor again, which allows us to offer excellent prize money for the Supreme Champion of the Show and the reserve champion.
“We are currently gathering up many other sponsors for individual classes and championships.
“If you would like to be part of this exciting event by way of sponsorship, please get in touch with us at Gransha,” said a spokesperson.
Some of the new classes are the racehorse to riding horse performance class, a complete range of novice and open working hunter classes, ridden pairs classes on Saturday and Sunday and a pairs derby on Sunday for two pony, horse and pony or two horses.
There will be stabling and hook up facilities for anyone who wishes to stay over and on Saturday night there will be a BBQ and entertainment.
Judges are coming in from England and Scotland so hopefully they will be suitable impressed with the high standard of both the ridden and jumping classes.
The entries will be discounted if made by February 28th and hook up and stabling must also be booked by that date. Entries close on March 18th.
The schedule is now available on www.granshaequestrian.co.uk along with the online entry form.
