End of season

ALL too soon, we are at the end of what has been a great spring hunting season throughout the country, north and south.

It’s been a bumper hunting season for The Irish Field, Ireland’s only national paper with dedicated hunting pages. We’ve enjoyed fantastic feedback from packs and hunt followers the length and breadth of the country.

Fear not, we’ll be back with more top coverage this autumn.

Big Thank You!

A very special thanks to our hard-working loyal hunting correspondents Noel Mullins and Dickie and Catherine Power for keeping us entertained with all the news from packs nationwide and also to all of the photographers who brought us all the colour of the hunting fields through their images.

A special mention to professional photojournalist Siobhan English whose brilliant photo sequence of the marriage proposal to side saddle rider Grace Murphy from William McMahon while the pair were hunting with the Galway Blazers, went into our record books for the most social media hits ever recorded for an Irish Horse World cover image.

Kilkenny fun

Hunting enthusiast Josie Kissane tells On Point of a great day out with the Kilkenny Hunt at Ballyhale. The meet got off at 11am and there was still plenty of action by 6pm! Lots of visitors from Carlow and Fermoy helped make it a very memorable day with new friends made.

Pictured is Liam Clancy from Liam Clancy Fine Art out on his horse Heather at the meet, one of many to follow the action and enjoy the day.

Children’s hunt

THE Meath Hounds are hosting an extra Children’s Hunt on Sunday, March 5th. The meet will be at Cruicetown House, Nobber, at 12 noon. Cap €20.

All children and novice riders welcome. By kind permission of Gerry and Janey Brady and Neville Jessop of Brittas House.
