Charity meet

THE Dublin Meath Farmers Hunt held their St Vincent de Paul charity hunt last Saturday from Oldtown pub in North County Dublin. The event was open to all and well done to everyone who supported this worthy cause and had a great day out.

Christmas idea

A GIFT of membership to organisations like the Hunting Association of Ireland (HAI) is one thing to consider for the Christmas stockings of the hunting enthusiasts in your life. See www.hai.ie for more information on the Association.

Irish Injured Jockeys

DON’T forget that the Tipperary Foxhounds are selling Christmas cards with the wonderful Peter Curling print ‘National Weather Warning’ as well as 2017 calendars, all in aid of Irish Injured Jockeys - a very worthy cause.

And Sharon Power (pictured) reminds us that fabulous Christmas cards are available in aid of the very worthy Irish Horse Welfare Trust (IHWT), Woodenbridge, Co Wicklow, featuring beautiful photography as well as images of an original piece by equine artist Tony O’Connor.

Hunt For Light

The Premier Harriers have announced a novel fundraiser for charity, ‘Hunt For Light’, in aid of Pieta House who specialise in helping people with suicidal tendencies.

Walkers welcome. The meet will take place at the Horse & Hound Bar in Dualla near Cashel in Co Tipperary, at 12.00 midnight on December 28th. Riders are asked to contribute €50, and €20 for walkers, and sponsorship cards are also available. Updates on stabling, accommodation and contact numbers are on the hunt Facebook page. All support welcome.
