Renouard reappointed

AMANDA Renouard has been reappointed senior dressage high performance director and, in her role, will focus on the delivery of the high performance plan 2018/2020 in addition to performance targets for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games campaign. Renouard acted as chef d’equipe for the Irish Dressage Team at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy 2014 and regularly attends high-level equestrian events across Europe. Anne Marie Dunphy has been reappointed as dressage high performance manager for the Irish pony (U16), junior (U18) and young rider (U21) teams.

Farrington injured

WORLD number one Kent Farrington has been sidelined with injury. The American show jumper was competing at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida when he fell off Evergate Stable LLC’s gelding Lucifer V and was taken to hospital. He is believed to have injured his lower leg and is likely to miss a few weeks of competition.

ISA Trade Fair

THE Irish Shows Association (ISA) announced that their Town Meets Country Trade Fair, which had been scheduled for April 22nd in the Aviva Stadium, will not take place in 2018, due to circumstances beyond their control.

Any deposits paid will be refunded as soon as possible.

Vaulting event

TODAY (Saturday) Equestrian Vaulting Ireland are hosting the fourth National Equestrian Vaulting competition in Festina Lente, Bray, from 10am to 3pm, approximately. There will be five clubs represented - Ballyrogan Vaulting club, Kells Equestrian, Festina Lente, Summit Vaulting and Free Spirit Vaulting.

UK polo test match

THE Bryan Morrison Trophy, the International Arena Polo Test Match, is set to take place at Hickstead on Saturday, March 3rd, with England taking on the USA. The teams have met five times at the All England Polo Club.

Top player Tommy Biddle will be on the side lines for the match through injury, but will coach the American trio of Shane Rice, Tommy Callingwood and captain Pelan Escapite.

The English team will be led by Chris Hyde alongside Ireland’s Sebastian Dawnay and Eden Ormerod. Tom Morley will act as coach for the UK team.
