THE foxhound classes at the upcoming National Hound Show have attracted a remarkable 434 entries from 19 hunts. Taking place on Sunday, July 5th, the show is set to include a plethora of hound and dog classes, as well as working hunter, show and traditional Irish classes.

One of the few hunting stalwarts who will miss the show is Tom Dempsey from the Galway Blazers, who has been asked to judge at a German hound show on the same weekend.

Meanwhile, Nathan O’Connor of the Duhallow is to join the famous Blazers outfit in the coming season, not the Tipperary Foxhounds, as was reported in last week’s issue.

The Tipps will be well served by their new huntsman Gavin Shorten and whipper-in Padraig Moynihan from Kerry.
