IRELAND’s Anna Merveldt scored a rare senior international dressage victory for Ireland by winning the Prix St Georges class at Lipica CDI*** in Slovenia on Thursday. Riding the nine-year-old stallion Idamantes LLC, the Irish rider scored 69.579% for the win. She also placed sixth with Forget Me Not on 66.447% in a class with 18 competitors.

This is the first senior international dressage victory for Ireland since Merveldt won the Grand Prix Special in Nice, France in August 2014.

Kildare’s Judy Reynolds and Remember were the last Irish winners of the Prix St Georges class in Lipica in 2008.
