MOUNTED games were held on all three days of last week’s Irish Pony Club Festival in Barnadown where the featured Senior A and B finals took place on Thursday.
The Meaths saw off a mixed Branch team running under the Slaney Rebels banner to win the B final while Laois triumphed in the A final ahead of Kildare and Duhallow. Trained by Lorna Whelan, the successful A squad comprised Caleb Schofield (Shadow), Adam Flynn (Raven), Ruth Schofield (Flash), Annabelle Hayes (Ned) and Eva O’Shaughnessy (Jamie).
Wednesday’s opening Junior games saw Shillelagh White Bib win the A final from Wexford and Meath while Laois had a good start to the Festival when landing the B final ahead of Shillelagh and Galway. Under 10s took centre stage on Friday and here Tipperary took the honours with Meath finishing second and Wexford placing third.
