IRELAND’s Holstein and her Irish-bred mare Sambuca put in a great performance to finish in 13th place in the five-star Grand Prix at Rotterdam in The Netherlands with a score of 68.674%.

British-based Irish international rider Dane Rawlins was also in action and finished in 20th place on a score of 60.174% with Espoire.

Holstein and 12-year-old Sambuca put in another solid performance to take 10th place in the five-star Grand Prix Freestyle, scoring 69.255%.

In the earlier Grand Prix Special at Rotterdam, Rawlins and the 12-year-old gelding Espoire scored 63.723% on their way to a seventh-place finish. Victory went to Dutch rider Hans Peter Minderhoud and Glock’s Dream Boy N.O.P. on a score of 78.894%.

Top 10 for Reynolds

Meanwhile, Kildare’s Judy Reynolds and her new mount Mango Jacaro scored 70.170% on their way to a ninth-place finish in the CDI3* Grand Prix Special at Grote-Brogel in Belgium.

Reynolds only took up the ride on the 16-year-old Andalusian stallion in the last few weeks and last Friday secured a first qualifying score of the two required for September’s 2021 FEI European Dressage Championships in Hagen, Germany. Claiming victory on this occasion was Spanish rider Beatriz Ferrer-Salat and Elegance on a score of 75.489%.

Also putting in a impressive performance was Irish pony dressage rider Louise Hooijen and Valhallas Zorro who produced three impressive results at the CDIP at Grote Brogel, scoring in excess of 68% in both the team and individual competitions and 70.383% for a top-10 finish in the Freestyle to Music competition.
