Harnett second in Belgian Grand Prix Special

IRISH dressage rider Jennifer Harnett and her 14-year-old Lusitano stallion Eximio scored an international personal best of 68.085% for second place in the Grand Prix Special at the three-star show in Sint-Truiden, Belgium, last Friday.

The Amsterdam-based rider made her international debut for Ireland in July last year.

Irish roots

Jennifer’s father is from Listowel, Co Kerry, and she imported Eximio as a five-year-old from Portugal. They have been competing at Grand Prix level since October 2021.

Germany’s Katharina Hemmer and Denoix PCH won the eight-runner class on a score of 72.277%. Kirsten Teeuwen completed the podium for The Netherlands with Camorkus on 64.808% ahead of Ireland’s Anne-Marie Rawlins and Etoile in fourth place on a 64.553% total.

Reynolds third

Competing in their first big tour international Freestyle to Music class as a combination, Judy Reynolds and the 12-year-old Fuerstenball Old gelding For Fun 51 placed third in the Freestyle to Music class on a score of 71.165% at the three-star show.

Dutch rider Fie Christine Skarsoe and Imperador Dos Cedros scored a big tour double at Sint-Truiden on a winning total of 74.195%.

Remy Bastings completed the podium for The Netherlands with Glamouraline on 72.050% in second place.
