Get well wishes

YOU can’t keep a good man down for long!

Our own Noel Mullins is currently out of action but is recovering well. Hopefully it won’t be long before he is out and about again, photographing great images of the hunting community and penning his reports for The Irish Field.

We are sure the entire hunting community of Ireland joins in our well wishes to you Noel, take it easy and get well soon!

We are delighted to have Orlaith Cuddihy continuing her profiles of hunt staff this season. Many thanks, Orlaith!

Future star

SOCIAL media went nuts over Saturday’s publication in The Irish Field of Nicola Collins’s great hunting picture of seven-year-old James Cleary in action over big hedges while out hunting with the South Westmeath Harriers on his pony Little Paddy Brown, bred by his late grandfather Paddy Dunning. Cian O’Connor shared it on his Facebook page and offered young James a future bursary with Karlswood Stables! Horse and Hound picked up the image for their online issue. Well done to James and his family, proud day!

Hunting sketch

OUT for the Count is the title of this week’s hunting sketch by Tony G. Murray, supplied to us by equestrian artist and hunting enthusiast Liam Clancy of Abbeyleix.

Third reprint

CATHERINE Power’s wonderful book Memoirs of a Foxhunting Photographer, which was launched last November and was an instant sell-out success, has just been reprinted for the third time. So the good news is that there will be plenty of availability of this smashing hunting book for Chistmas. Anyone looking for copies should email catherinepowerphotos@eircom.net
