“We were over to look at a different horse in Germany and a contact of Heike’s had him. When we saw him, it was like ‘Wow!’ Do we need to look at anything else!’

When I sat up on him, it was amazing. I felt I could ride around without reins. He’s a little bit too laidback but that’s kind of why I was able to get him. He wasn’t sharp enough for the top quality stuff they wanted in Germany.

For the most part he’s like that but the one thing he loves – and luckily you don’t get too many in dressage – is coloured mares. It’s not like he’ll plant me and run over but, if he sees one, he’ll be like ‘ah we won’t do any more work today, we’ve done enough now!”
