Hosted by Ard Scoil Na Trionoide, Athy, this leg took place at Coilóg EC.

Third place went to a mixed team from Borris Vocational School and Gaelcholaiste Ceatharlach, with Our Lady of Lourdes from New Ross in fourth. Colaiste Bhride also took fifth place ahead of Kings Hospital in sixth.

Our Lady of Lourdes rider Abby Boland claimed first place in the individual, increasing her league score by 10 points to 38. Ellen Forster from King’s Hospital was second ahead of Kate Walsh, representing Presentation Secondary school, Kilkenny.

Hannah Sutton from Newbridge College finished fourth, ahead of Laura Finnerty (St Gerard’s) in fifth and Caoimhe Sweeney from Newbridge in sixth. This result puts Boland and Sweeney in joint-fourth place in the league at the moment.

Local school Kildare Town Community School claimed the novice team event, beating Newbridge College’s novice team who had to settle for second place. Borris Secondary school took third place. St Mary’s College, Naas claimed fourth ahead of host school Ard Scoil Na Trionoide.

Newbridge got some compensation when Ruby Maher claimed the novice individual ahead of Chloe Walker Reid from Cross and Passion, Kilcullen. Aine Sexton, representing Kildare town community school, was third.

The primary schools competitions were hotly contested and victory went to the team from Scoil Mhuire, Drumphea, Garryhill. Combined teams filled the next two places, with the team from St Patrick’s NS and Kildangan in second, ahead of Borris and Leighlinbridge in third.

The final three places were filled by Bennekerry NS in fourth, followed by the Teresian School, Dublin in fifth and Borris NS in sixth.

Borris claimed first and second in the primary school individual class, where Catherine Kavanagh beat her teammate and sibling Claire into third.

Newbridge Educate Together filled the next two slots with Anna Kelly and Ava Gleeson. Joshua Hickey was fifth and Isabella Tyrell from Johnathon Swift National School was sixth.

The Equestrian Interschools Ireland league moves to Barnadown on March 30th, where as well as the usual team classes, there will be derby individual classes and the sixth qualifying round of the HSI 1.10m premier individual competition taking place.

There will be one more league competition at Ballinamona EC on April 5th before the league final in Coilóg EC on April 12th and 13th.
