There are some busy weeks ahead for Irish Pony Club members, with two Connolly’s Red Mills qualifiers to contest this Sunday(July 26th) at Ballindenisk and at Corbeagh House on the same day.

On Monday (July 27th) a three-day Festival commences at the new venue of Mullingar EC, where the fopening days focus will be on under 12 riders and under 10 dressage, show jumping and the three-part challenge.

Mounted games for junior riders takes place in the afternoon.

Pure dressage gets the action underway on Tuesday morning, followed by combined training, mounted games for senior B teams and the musical ride competition.

While there are games for riders under 10 and for senior pairs on Wednesday, show jumping dominates the final day of the Festival with the team competitions for the Robbie Bailey Cup (Junior), John Ledingham Cup (Intermediate) and Irish Pony Club Trophy (Open) followed by the Senior individual competition.

Pegus eventing trials

Clubs from Area 17, who tomorrow (Sunday) hold their Pegus eventing trials at Cloncaw Equestrian, have been invited to take part in the Festival and will also be competing at the IPC’s tetrathlon championships which take place over the three days of the August bank holiday at Tattersalls.

The sales complex is also the venue for the Connolly’s Red Mills eventing championships on the weekend of August 15th and 16th. Members have a final chance to qualify for these championships at Glandoran on Sunday August 2nd.
