THE Tipperary Foxhounds are hosting a Hunter Challenge Show on Saturday, October 14th at Grove Estate, Fethard, Co. Tipperary, by kind permission of Mr. Mrs. Ponsonby.

There will be four separate classes on the day, over a rustic course made up of 12 obstacles designed to test the boldness and technique of the horse, designed to mirror the country encountered in the hunting field.

The classes are the junior hunter (90cm), limited to those age 10-16, the 90cm side saddle class, the 1m hunter class and the exciting 1.20m huntsman class. Fantastic prizes will be awarded to the top placed horses in each section.

Judges on the day will include international ride Mike Ryan, show jumper Seamus Hayes, showing experts Brian Murphy and PJ Casey, with Timmy Hyde and Ross Easom judging conformation. Rebecca Rafter and Joanne Quirke will judge the saddle saddle class with Rafter on ride duty.

Entries cost €30 for juniors and €50 for all other classes, and with classes filling up fast, don’t delay to get your entry in through www.itsplainsailing.com/club/th.
