SER WINTER SHOW
SERIES DANVILLE
HOUSE
THE first of the South East Region’s three winter shows took place at Danville House, Co. Kilkenny, recently. Competitors made the most of Barbara Stallard’s top-class facilities, particularly the indoor warm-up arena. Oscar O’Connor, a familiar face from the Silver Spurs circuit this summer, enjoyed a clean sweep of the Trailblazers classes along with his sister Anna. These classes are for underage riders who have never competed above novice level, and include a separate lead rein section for the youngest competitors.
Annika Rohrssen, Rachael Carr and Sue Owens were the highest scoring riders at prelim, novice and elementary respectively, and as such they are the early leaders on the Region’s Winter league table. The league consists of this show along with one on November 12th and one on December 3rd, both at Danville, and the latter will mark the final of the league.
Riders will be allowed to count scores from two of the three dates towards their league placing, so it is all still to play for, and prizes will be awarded at each level from prelim to advanced. It is not necessary to be a member of Dressage Ireland in order to take part.
An extra prize will be offered in December - for the best Christmas costume.
