THERE was smiles all round at Thomastown last weekend when Co Tipperary’s Michael and Rachel Lyons’ three-year-old gelding Kilmastulla Newmarket Knight (by Newmarket Venture out of a thoroughbred mare by Presenting) won the Champion Young Horse title at the show.

Bred by Billy and Brian Daly of Scarteen Stud, Newmarket, Co Cork, the horse also won the first Galway Crystal and Beleek China qualifier for the All Ireland Final at Bannow and Rathangan.
